A leaking supply fitting and a flooded basement in Marlborough
Water was entering a basement. Pressure tests and acoustic listening traced the leak to a broken meter outlet fitting.
What was happening
The property had a flooded basement and no internal stopcock. The engineer identified two external meter boxes and a stopcock in an old gas box.
What the engineer did
Pressure testing and acoustic equipment were used to investigate the supply between the rear meter box and the external stopcock.
What was found
Excavation revealed a broken fitting on the outlet from the meter.
What happened next
ADI rebuilt the connection using 25 mm fittings and MDPE pipe. The excavation was backfilled and covered safely. The published case records the pipe repair; it does not describe completed basement drying or restoration.
